CEDA is pleased with last week’s announcement by Government on a further $40 million allocation to the Regional Business Partners (RBP) programme to support New Zealand’s business community through the challenges brought on by COVID-19. The RBP programme is administered by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) and is delivered across the country. CEDA is a Regional Business partner in the programme.

CEDA’s Business Development Manager, John Morris, says that this funding is another much needed lifeline in the Governments support package to date.

“As the delivery partner for the RBP programme, we’re acutely aware of the ongoing challenges and disruption faced by our business community across the Manawatū-Whanganui region.” Morris says.

“This additional funding means that we can continue to provide critical support and capability funding to the many businesses who are dealing with critical business challenges right now.”

“Between March and June this year, our team have supported more than 370 businesses impacted by COVID-19 with over $610,000.00 in funding, and the demand for support is not slowing down anytime soon.”

The announcement was made on the 14th July by Ministers Nash and Twyford, who announced the additional $40 million to provide our nations SME community with the support required to navigate, and survive the effects of COVID-19 on their businesses.

This funding is available to connect businesses with professional specialist providers in key areas to help with the impact of COVID-19 on their business and ensures they can access effective support at a local level, very quickly.

“To date, CEDA’s customers have found the support offered through this programme to be hugely beneficial, and I’d encourage any business owner dealing with the impacts of COVID-19 to get in touch with our team today to see how we can help.” says Morris.

Types of support for businesses impacted by COVID-19, include:

  • HR & Employee Relations
  • Legal, Financial and Cashflow Management
  • Health and Wellness
  • Business Continuity Planning
  • Marketing Strategy
